Morning mist rolls over the rice terraces of Yunnan, south west China.
I’m a Brit living in the US, having previously also lived in China, and being that I’ve travelled around East Asia as a result of living in the far east, most of my photos will be concentrated in the UK, East Asia, and the US.
I have also been lucky enough to have travelled beyond those areas, though, and enjoy the act of visiting places and countries I’ve yet to see, so every now and then there will be a photo from a locale not in those aforementioned areas.
Although I love photography (and take my camera wherever I go) I am very much an amateur photographer: I have no specific project or art series in mind when I take pictures, I just photograph what I find interesting and/or beautiful, wherever I may be at the time, and I own an entry level DSLR (a Nikon D3000; previously I owned a D40X) with only a kit lens (18mm-55mm), so nothing too special. I do keep promising myself that I’ll buy something better, whether a camera, a lens, or both, but, as is often the case, life finds other things for me to do and other ways for me to spend my money, and it keeps getting put off. This fact has directly led to the existence of my blog: If I take myself and my photos more seriously and display them in a Tumblr photo blog (my original work only), I aim to make improving my camera and/or lens worth my while.
